How to think when it comes to tagging people on LinkedIn?

Some believe that “the more I tag, the more visibility I get”.

That’s not true. You should tag people (ie with @name nameson, so that it turns blue) if you know, or think, that the post is relevant or interesting to them. It could be a colleague or a customer that you want to highlight, or make them notice something, or ask for their perspective.

But!

In one post, keep it to 3-5 people. And do not tag people all the time.

In terms of views, tagging does not help in itself, but it is only when people who have been tagged – like or comment on the post, that it gives visibility to their network.
